Cilantro

Visited Cilantro on the West side last night and here is what our diners had to say:
Carrie:
1)    Food was delicious! I had the chicken enchiladas in mole sauce & they were filling, well-seasoned & the mole sauce was delicate, not overpowering.
2)    In general, I liked the interior of the restaurant, but I think it'd be helpful for them to put some sort of sound protection on the high ceiling. It might help to muffle the chatter.
3)    Chairs were relatively uncomfortable. Need more padding.
4)    Excellent house margaritas!
5)    Our waiter was a bit over the top for me. He didn't need to point out every item on the menu & explain it to everyone. People can pretty much figure a menu out on their own & will ask questions if they have them.

Joe: Best crab cakes this side of Florida!

  1. Location/decor. I would have never guessed a somewhat upscale restaurant is located across the street from Memorial High Not being familiar with the Cilantro, I thought it was an odd choice of name of a fast-food type restaurant. Boy, did I come to a wrong conclusion! Interior is nice but not especially striking.

Service. The waiter was very attentive, though in a strangely aloof way. I didn't get a sense that he was eager to please as much as just really focused on his work.

Very good margaritas, though they don't rank up there with Pasqual's. Outstanding food -- appetizers and entree. On this point, I give the restaurant an unqualified recommendation.
