  1. FULL DISCLOSURE:
Until about 9 years ago, my experience with fish fry was limited to...um...Long John Silvers. Ha!

The Avenue offers three Friday specials for Fish... Lake Perch, Deep Fried Cod and Fish Boil. I had the Deep Fried Cod and Fries with Clam Chowder.

Sides - 3.0 The Avenue offers a serious amount of options for sides... I had the fries, though normally I have the hashbrowns with cheese. The fries were just fine, and didn't get in the way of the fish.

Atmosphere/service - 4 - The Atmosphere was Friday-Game day-crazy. Thank god we had reservations, because there would have been no way we would have made it to a table before 10 pm. The Waitress didn't let the table of ten in the standing room only bar area phase her. The food came in a reasonable time and she offered to split the checks without the sighing and hardship this normally causes at restaurants.

Flavor - 3 - The Lake Perch I sampled had a better flavor than the deep fried cod, but I did enjoy the breading on mine.

Tartar Sauce - 3- I am a fan of more savory tartar sauce than what was served at Avenue. This one was a little too sweet for me, but not totally unpleasant.

  2. From JoAnna:

Sides--I had the fish boil--yummy carrots and potatoes. the salad was so-so. 3
Atmosphere--crazy busy and loud, hard to hear everyone. Waitress was good. 3.5
    Flavor-great. 4
Tartar Sauce--never use it unless the fish needs masking. No score and no need to use.
