  2. I had the Walnut burger with blue cheese and raw onion and fries.

    The patty - 4.5
    The toppings - 4
    The atmosphere - 2.5
    The sides - 3

I very much love the walnut burger with blue cheese. I am even slightly allergic to it and still order it every time. Who really minds a few hives when the sandwich is that tasty?

I think the real deal from the Blue Moon was better... but I do still like it a lot.

The atmosphere got a lower score because the woman kept yelling at us about moving the chairs to the ends of the table. She was unnecessarily gruff, but at least she's consistent. Every time I've been there, she is yelling at someone.

  3. I order the Bleu Cheese burger, with lettuce and tomato and fried onions.

The patty. (2.5) Very ordinary. A bit overdone. Not particularly tasty -- or maybe it was just the bleu cheese topping that overwhelmed everything else.

The toppings. (3.5) Without the toppings, I probably would have given the patty a failing grade.

The atmosphere. (2.0) "Old World Wisconsin". Best for watching live music. I like the posters on the walls. Oh, and when I go out to eat, I prefer table service. With all their reconnoitering to check on the position of the chairs, the staff might as well take orders.

The sides. (1.5) The cheese curds are better suited as missiles.

Definitely at the bottom of the Burger Night heap.

  4. I ordered the basic burger, no toppings.

    The patty 4.0

The toppings - No blue cheese here folks

    The sides 3.5

    The atmosphere 2.5

The patty came as per my directions and was very tasty. It was, however, smaller than I prefer, but is typical of what you get locally. The 9 ounce version at Curly's is just right but I don't have the time for the drive right now w/ my remodeling and all of that.

The French fries that I split with Andy were good. There are only about 4 places in Madison that I can say this about.

The woman mentioned in the previous posts used to tell me where not to stand around the bar when I was ordering. Now she is the chair and seating monitor. Otherwise the place is kind of unusual with a bar/grill on the one side of the building and a seating area for the music on the other. By the time we left the seating area was entirely full with people who were just ordering food.

I almost forgot to mention that the domestic bottle beers that I ordered were nice and cold.

All in all it was a nice time and all of the food came at about the same time for our group.

  5. I enjoyed the Walnut Burger with Bleu Cheese

    Patty: 4
    Topping: 4
    Atmosphere: 2.4
    Sides: 5

Well, the place had rules ... and, we seemed to run contrary to a number of them. Really liked the burger and the sides were delish. Not crazy about any establishment that is cash-only. And, it was the smallest, most ice-filled Arnold Palmer I've ever had (yet perhaps among the most expensive). They did well with a crowd (actually accommodating a few large groups at the same time).
